Role: Operations Assistant
Location: Naas
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30

We are looking for an Operations Assistant to join our Distribution Transportation team in Naas. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation activities . You will be responsible for managing documentation, inputting and transferring data, and maintaining strong communication between customers and our operations teams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys coordinating multiple moving parts to keep operations running efficiently.

What will you be doing?

• Plan routes for the Distribution fleet to optimise load capacity and ensure timely delivery.

• Manage delays and average stop times, taking proactive measures to minimise disruptions.

• Maximise efficiency when scheduling and organising drivers and vehicles.

• Address discrepancies and overages in freight shipments to maintain accuracy in transportation operations.

• Handle miscellaneous transportation issues such as vehicle breakdowns or unexpected route closures.

• Manage transportation documentation and input/transfer data between transport systems efficiently.

• Communicate effectively with customers, operations teams, and partners to resolve queries.

• Provide updates on delivery status via phone or electronic communication.

• Foster strong relationships with customers, ensuring professional service and timely issue resolution.

• Encourage customers to utilise company e-solutions and support their use as needed.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

About You

• Previous experience in the transport or logistics industry.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage transportation documentation accurately.

• Excellent attention to detail, particularly in resolving discrepancies and handling data.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with customers and internal teams.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, able to respond quickly to unexpected challenges.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operations team.

• Customer-focused mindset with a professional and responsive approach.

• Commitment to Health & Safety and adherence to company standards.
