As Operations Manager you will be fully responsible for the overall performance, compliance, financial management, and operational excellence of the Distribution Center, ensuring team KPI's are met, you will drive continuous improvement, maintain a strong safety culture, and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including authorities, vendors, and country leadership.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage and conduct performance reviews and ensure team development plans are in place. Supervisors, Team Leaders, Customer Service Representatives (CSR), and WHS Associates.
- Monitor team productivity and performance KPIs to ensure targets are consistently met, Drive accountability and foster a high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the DC team for daily and weekly operational priorities.
- Ensure all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and SWIs (Standard Work Instructions) are followed.
- Maintain updated training records and ensure continuous capability development across the team, drive standardization aligned with regional requirements.
- Implement and sustain 5S methodology across the site, recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and optimize space utilization
- Ensure full operational readiness and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across the site, ensure compliance with all HSSE policies and procedures.
- Oversee incident reporting, corrective actions, and follow-ups, ensure findings, audits, and safety inspections are properly addressed and closed.
- Ensure team medical check-ups and safety programs are conducted as required.
- Act as the main point of contact for country authorities regarding truck/order clearances and other regulatory matters.
- Own and manage monthly invoicing processes, manage quarterly Purchase Orders (POs) and annual budget planning.
- Align closely with local finance teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Lead cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives, monitor operational expenses and ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Coordinate cross-functional support with Procurement, Finance, HSSE, and other country teams.
- Handle escalations involving local DSV entities, government bodies (MEA), vendors, and landlords.
Experience
- Extensive experience with people management
- 3 years minimum working experience within Supply Chain Management or 3PL operations
- P&L acumen
- Change management experience
Competences
- Customer management experience
- Excellent in verbal and written communication in English,Arabic(Advantageous)
- Education level equivalent to bachelor’s degree
