DSV Air & Sea is seeking to hire a skilled and passionate Freight Forwarder, Import in NZL - Wellington, Daly St.
The position is responsible for efficient and effective delivery of import customer services to meet the needs of our customers in accordance with DSV principles and policies. This is an end-to-end role incorporating all import functions from order management through to shipment operations, transportation, delivery and invoicing. You will ensure the efficient handling of orders by liaising with customers and service providers.
Your typical day at DSV:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, both locally and internationally.
- Manage end-to-end import processes including order registration, shipment coordination, customs clearance, and final delivery.
- Provide timely and accurate communication, quotes, and updates using CargoWise One (CW1).
- Monitor and update shipment milestones, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and invoiced in line with KPIs.
- Resolve customer queries efficiently and escalate issues when necessary to meet service expectations.
- Collaborate with overseas offices and service providers to ensure smooth cargo movement and compliance with requirements.
- Support client onboarding by maintaining SOPs and ensuring customer data is current and accurate.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to team coverage and administrative support as needed.
About you:
- Solid industry knowledge with experience in freight forwarding, CargoWise One, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
- Comfortable working in a digital, paperless environment with strong attention to detail and process compliance.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, network effectively, and maintain professional relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to persuade, present ideas clearly, and challenge constructively.
- Resilient and composed under pressure, with the ability to resolve conflicts and adapt to change.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret data and evaluate solutions objectively.
