Summary
At DSV Road Transport, the Warehouse Intern role provides operational and administrative support to the warehouse team while gaining hands-on exposure to logistics and supply chain operations. This role assists with day-to-day warehouse activities including inventory management, shipment preparation, data entry, and operational coordination. The Warehouse Intern works closely with warehouse leadership and team members to support efficient material movement, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure operational processes are followed.
This internship provides practical experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and supply chain processes within a fast-paced distribution environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists warehouse team members with daily operational activities including receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
- Supports inbound and outbound shipment processing and documentation.
- Assists with inventory counts and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
- Performs data entry and updates warehouse management systems with shipment or inventory information.
- Helps organize warehouse storage areas to maintain efficiency, safety, and accuracy.
- Assists with labeling, packaging, and preparation of materials for shipment.
- Supports the review of shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and delivery paperwork.
- Observes and learns warehouse safety procedures and operational best practices.
- Communicates with warehouse staff and supervisors regarding operational needs or discrepancies.
- Facilitates communication between warehouse and customers.
- Assists with basic administrative tasks related to warehouse operations.
- Supports special projects, operational initiatives, or process improvement efforts as assigned by warehouse leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Interest in logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
- Previous warehouse, retail, or operational experience is a plus but not required.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and operational procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn new systems and warehouse processes quickly.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
Physical Demands
The employee must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift. This role may occasionally require lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 40 pounds. The position also involves frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and carrying materials within the warehouse environment. The employee must be able to safely work in a warehouse setting that includes moving equipment and machinery.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season. The environment may include moderate noise levels from warehouse equipment and operations. The role requires regular interaction with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other operational personnel throughout the facility. Adherence to all warehouse safety policies and procedures is required.

For this position, the base pay range is $20.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
