Summary
DSV Material Analysts are responsible for monitoring/managing our customers’ materials pipeline from Origin to Destination. Analysts are responsible for maintaining a fluid continuous flow of products from the Supply Base destined to customers’ facilities and plants. The interaction begins with monitoring materials management system releases to the supply base along with critical shortage reports to the plants. The pipeline is maintained by ensuring that all participating parties (Plant, Supplier, Logistics, Consolidation points, and Steamship Line) are in sync to coordinate the successful transportation of materials within KPI performance metrics. Material Analysts are able to identify problems within the supply chain, dissect the root cause, and find a viable, effective, and least financially impactful solution for our customers while offering protection of plant build schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and report Critical Parts to end-using facilities
- Monitor and report on shipments that are past intended targets thus being late
- Monitor and report on Supplier’s compliance to shipping to requested requirements and on proper day
- Aid in gathering critical information in the need for expedites
- Track and Trace shipments from supplier to delivery of end-using facility
Educational background / Work experience
- At least 2 years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations is preferred for this position.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and apply lessons learned from previous occasions where the issue presented difficulty or roadblocks
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications used in logistics operations
- Ability to work with a team and trust one another to aid and guide in decision making
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience in a customer-facing role, such as customer service or account management
Language skills
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
Computer Literacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications used in logistics operations is required.
