Summary
The Operational Account Manager, Operations, Road Transport is responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation operations for assigned customer accounts while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational execution. This role serves as a primary point of contact for customers, coordinating freight movements, resolving service issues, managing shipment activity, and ensuring timely and accurate communication throughout the shipment lifecycle. The Operational Account Manager works closely with carriers, internal operations teams, and customers to support account retention, operational efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations for assigned customer accounts while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service execution.
- Coordinate and expedite freight movements to fulfill customer transportation requirements.
- Serve as a primary operational point of contact for customers regarding shipment activity, service updates, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and internal operational teams.
- Analyze customer orders and support complex load planning and load-building activities.
- Independently assess operational situations and resolve issues in the best interest of both the customer and the company.
- Provide reporting, shipment updates, and operational metrics to customers as requested.
- Collaborate with Account Managers and operational teams to ensure proper load coverage and maximize carrier utilization opportunities.
- Audit system data throughout the billing process, including shipment validation and load accuracy.
- Track shipments proactively and communicate pertinent load information to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Credit, and Settlement departments to resolve customer inquiries and account discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and complete shipment documentation and system entries.
- Support transportation rate negotiations and customer quoting activities as needed.
- Promote the DSV Road Transport brand through professional customer interactions and operational excellence.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, supply chain, or a related operational environment preferred.
- Experience managing customer accounts and transportation operations in a fast-paced environment preferred.
- Prior experience coordinating freight movements and working with carriers and customers preferred.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is required

- Working knowledge of transportation operations, freight brokerage processes, and industry terminology.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn and navigate transportation management systems and related software platforms.
- Intermediate mathematical and analytical skills.
- English language proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The employee may occasionally be required to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment including computers, telephones, and related technology. DSV Road Transport Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at will” employees. This means that an employee may be terminated for any reason, or no reason at all, at any time, provided the discharge does not violate any law*. For this position, the expected base pay range is $56K – $76K Annuel. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
