Summary

The Senior Application Designer/Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software applications that support DSV's transportation and logistics operations. This position will work closely with the business and technology teams to understand the requirements and develop solutions that meet the needs of the organization.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software applications to support transportation and logistics operations.
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to understand requirements and develop solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
  • Analyze existing applications and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Work with the development team to ensure that applications are designed and developed in accordance with best practices and standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications and systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies and make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies.

 

Educational background / Work experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Experience in the transportation and logistics industry is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise-level software development, including designing and implementing complex applications.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in application development, software design, and architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
  • Experience with cloud computing and microservices architecture.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

  • This position may be responsible for supervising and providing technical leadership to junior developers.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with logistics or transportation management systems.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

 

Language skills

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

 

Computer Literacy

  • Proficiency in software development tools such as Visual Studio, Eclipse, or IntelliJ.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is preferred.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $153,000.00 - $229,000.00 / Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
