Summary
This role oversees the work of others who coordinate shipment according to customer instructions (SOP’s), and ensures compliance to DOT regulations and established internal policies and guidelines. Will also be responsible for providing solutions in resolving transportation issues and inquiries.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure dispatch teams works effectively and in a manner that optimizes service levels on every shipment executed
- Ensure that dispatch errors are immediately picked up, and proper corrective action is undertaken to mitigate recurrence.
- Act as escalation point for branch teams, related to any service
- Resolve internal cross-team conflicts and escalate unresolved issues to next management level
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners.
- Ensure Vendor performance is exceptional, manage Vendor visits & QBR reviews with relevant Vendor counterparts and team colleagues when required
- Ensure the selection of the most optimal services and Vendors (considering cost, lead times, reliability)
- Manage all Vendor escalation and related internal communication between DSV stakeholders
- Ensure an appropriate and balanced workload for individual teams members and the team overall
- Ensure successful Implementation of new processes, standards, guidelines when required
- Ensure successful implementation of new business into the Dispatch Team, taking time to clearly understand customer requirements and execute with care during the implementation phase.
- Continuously review performance of team and evolve processes to improve operational performance.
- Ensure the overall performance of the team meets and exceeds specified internal/external KPI's, Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
Educational background / Work experience
.
- 10+ years of experience in Logistics and customer service environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Good understanding of ocean export/import operations and transload operations
- Essential - Experience in trucking carrier deliveries/recovery process and terminal port/CY requirements
- Maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Email and Telephone etiquette
- Ability to troubleshoot day-to-day issues that may arise during pick-up or delivery process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Results oriented with an ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively.
- Familiar with continuous improvement methodology preferred.
Language skills
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
Computer Literacy
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

For this position, the expected base pay is: $64,000 - $86,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location and other objective business considerations.
