Job Posting Title: Team Lead, Ocean Import

Summary
The Ocean Import Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the Import of goods via ocean transport. This position manages a team of Import professionals and ensures that Import processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
•    Manage and lead a team of Import professionals
•    Develop and implement Import processes and procedures
•    Ensure that Import processes are executed in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner
•    Coordinate with internal teams, such as logistics and customer service, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods
•    Maintain relationships with customers and partners
•    Analyze market trends and identify areas for process improvement
•    Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws
•    Manage and oversee documentation for Import shipments
•    Develop and implement training programs for the Import team

Educational background / Work experience
•    A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is required.
•    At least 5 years of experience in ocean Import operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
•    Familiarity with Import regulations, customs clearance procedures, and industry best practices.

Skills & Competencies
•    Strong leadership and communication skills.
•    Proficient in using computer software programs related to logistics and supply chain management.
•    Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
•    Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)
•    Responsible for managing a team of ocean Import coordinators.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with leading ocean cargo logistics software and systems
•    Familiarity with ocean freight regulations, customs requirements, and Import controls
•    Knowledge of shipping routes and schedules

Language skills
•    Fluency in English is required
•    Knowledge of additional languages is a plus


Computer Literacy
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
•    Experience with logistics software and systems is required

For this position, the expected base pay is: $29.00 - $39.25 / Hourly.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
