Main Purpose of The Role:

To manage staff, clients, and branch deliverables, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s objectives. The role focuses on optimal utilisation of resources to deliver high-quality services to clients by owning delivery SLA.

Minimum Requirements:

•    Strong operational, HR, and IR (Industrial Relations) Skills.
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or courier environment. 
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in business and/or operational management. 
•    Experience in retail logistics and distribution environment. 
•    Excellent administrative skills. 
•    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
•    In-depth knowledge of the LRA and BCEA with practical IR experience. 
•    Computer proficiency. 
•    Experience in quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, TQM). 
•    Minimum 5 years in material planning and logistics. 
•    Project management skills. 
•    Financial acumen. 
•    Retail. 

Electives:

•    Inbound, sorting & outbound of a courier business. 
•    Fist mile and last mile operations. 
•    Managing nominated delivery days and bookings. 
•    Ability to work under pressure. 

Computer packages:

•    MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook (Intermediate).
•    ERP system knowledge (Intermediate).

Qualifications:

•    Matric (Essential).
•    Diploma in Logistics & transport, Supply Chain or Operations management (Essential).
•    B. Com in Logistics & transport, Supply Chain or Operations management (Advantage)

Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Drive the achievement of organisational objectives through effective communication, performance measurement, and staff motivation. 
•    Collaborate with shared services to ensure continuous cooperation and alignment. 
•    Deliver on client commitments in line with local, national, and global strategies. 
•    Manage costs and productivity to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. (Labour cost &Vehicle utilization). 
•    Ensure compliance with internal and external controls, as well as KPIs at both global and local levels. 
•    Deliver on budget commitments and ensure financial targets are met. 
•    Identify business risks and opportunities that may impact performance and shareholder commitments. 
•    Manage employee performance and development to sustain business growth. 
•    Ensure adherence to deadlines and operational schedules. 
•    Oversee resource management and risk control. 
•    Perform administrative duties relevant to the role. 
•    Engage with customers at all levels, both in person and telephonically. 
•    Maintain and improve systems, processes, and controls. 
•    Ensure housekeeping standards are consistently upheld. 
•    Change management. 
•    Provide support to the Branch Manager Manager. 
•    Manage relationships with customers and suppliers.
•    Demonstrate understanding and management of Profit & Loss (P&L).
