Re-engineering auto industry processes improves inventory accuracy to 99.8%

DSV supported the company’s plan for a new regional parts distribution center by establishing a warehouse in the Jebel Ali Free Zone and implementing customized logistics solutions to improve operations and support to dealers. One critical process change that DSV re-engineered was setting up a cross-dock area, which resulted in a 43 percent reduction in airfreight shipments and back-order processing time. Other significant improvements that DSV enabled include an inventory accuracy of 99.8 percent and major reductions in pick-and-pack and put-away processing time.
