Transporting solar panel equipment in time to claim major tax credit

DSV Projects Australia was given a tough job by a leading supplier of solar energy gear. The company required 5,000 FEU to be moved in a handful of months, from Australia to the United States. The cargo was solar tracking equipment, which are the trackers that direct solar modules toward the sun, while changing the orientation of panels throughout the day.

The company was racing to deliver so its client could claim a U.S. government tax credit. The tracker supplier had five months to get the gear to multiple sites in the US. Each delivery had to meet strict, on-site receiving dates and DSV Projects Australia completed all deliveries by the deadlines. The solar energy client was able to claim the 30% US tax credit. This commercial agreement marked one of the largest contracts of its kind in the solar industry.
