EXPORT PLANNER 

DSV Road Ltd, Purfleet

A position in the operations department has become available at DSV Road Ltd, Purfleet.

The person we are looking for must be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high job quality and profit making.

The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the Operations Supervisor/Manager, will be responsible for general office duties and supporting the operations team. This candidate would develop skills within the operations team ranging from data entry, order management, customer services and operations. There will be administrational tasks involved in the job as well as liaising with over sea partners and other local DSV offices in the UK.

The applicant should have good financial awareness. They must be organised, punctual and hard-working.

We are looking for a person who can eventually, add extra quality to our already highly skilled operations team and be able come up with alternative solutions to challenges and problems whilst at the same time work under pressure.

Main purpose of Job:

To assist with the day-to-day running of the European operations department. The key tasks to deliver on the role, amongst others, includes;

• Validating shipment data using our internal operating system.
• Booking in collections/deliveries with respective collection/delivery points.
• Providing customers with market-leading customer service experience, by phone and/or e-mail, ensuring to meet customers’ requirements.
• Completing admin processing work, for instance checking if consignments are invoiced.
• Sourcing, negotiating and sub-contracting haulage to approved suppliers.
• Quoting customers and/or internal departments for transport arrangements, maximising cost effectiveness.

• Liaising with other DSV offices in the UK and abroad, to resolve any discrepancies and/or carry out specific requirements.
• Communicating with  planners ensure issues are resolved promptly.

• Ensuring legislative compliance in all areas.
• Ensuring that the company operates within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.

Hours:  09.00 – 17.00 hrs Monday to Friday
Holiday: 25 days per annum + bank holidays
