Senior IT Specialist

This position is collaboration and link between DSV’s customers, DSV’s business functions and the regional and global IT departments reporting into the Team Lead BY WMS Core.

STRATEGIC / TACTICAL

• Collaborate with the Delivery and product function, other relevant DSV departments to support the delivery of business requirements with the standard DSV warehouse systems solutions and identify solutions for potential gaps.
• Collect review & understand customer requirements and help in the translation of these into BRF/BRS for submission to the build part of IT
• Conduct IT Solution Reviews with IT Delivery team to maximize standardization and reusing existing solutions
• Continuous improvement of the standard warehouse solutions for faster implementation within the regional sites and support the creation of further regional and global standard solutions in the logistics space together with the other regional and global teams
• Maintain and develop the WMS and surrounding applications with high focus on standardization and code reusability, clear and understandable documentation.

• Adhere to the global and regional governance guidelines defined for all IT solutions and in particular the once in the logistics area
• Assist with code & solution reviews
• Responsible for being cost conscience
• Support the IT architecture function in its mission, objective and action plans

RESEARCH AND EXPAND THE TOOLBOX FOR WMS SOLUTIONS

• Research new opportunities for increasing productivity and growing profit within the function of WMS systems
• Communicate and collaborate with the BY WMS Core Lead, BY WMS Delivery Lead & Director BY WMS on future functionality as market trends/demands are presented
• Collaborate with the Core & Delivery teams in delivering those functionalities

EXECUTION

• Act as an IT Technical/Functional resource on key DSV projects
• Provide senior consultancy on technical matters and logistic projects
• Act as interface between the demand functions and IT solutions to ensure internal and external customer requirements are met
• Secure on-time creation of technical solutions, internal developments
• Analyze customer requirements, recommend, project manage & manage the implementation of IT solutions in collaboration with business owner/account manager
• Continue to enhance skills through continuing education
• Participate in business implementations and full responsibility for end-to-end IT project work stream. Liaise with EDI group to ensure customer IT integration
• Coordinate information & activities to ensure customer satisfaction in delivering warehouse management solutions
• Collaborate with regional project management team to manage time/resources and successfully deliver IT warehouse systems services
• Create and deliver in person or by teams’ presentations/demos on how IT enables warehouse solutions
• Identify gaps and/or shortcomings of DSV warehouse applications based on own’s observations, knowledge, customer’s requirements and competitor’s systems. Pro-actively discuss these improvement opportunities with the global WMS teams in both Core and Support areas and where appropriate participate in continous improvement projects related to DSV’s standard warehouse solutions
• Support head of department with ad-hoc IT projects as required

Minimal requirements

GENERIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to navigate and work with BY WMS (previously JDA, RedPrairie Discrete) and deploy applications in a MOCA environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Page Builder and .Net
• Basic knowledge of Java programming language.
• Good SQL command language and knowledge of relational Database.
• Experience with implementing EDI/B2B end to end customer supply chain solutions.
• General knowledge of working with different 3rd party SW providers.
• Capable of taking ownership of and implementing the project, including the end-user contact, analysis, design, and documentation.
• Proven ability to maintain and implement high quality, reliable WMS solutions. 
• Demonstrate thoroughness in system design and system testing with a minimum supervision

Minimal requirements

5 years professional experience in a transportation, logistics or supply chain management related role, preferably within the 3PL industry.
