Backup Administration
The role involves implementing, monitoring, and maintaining backup solutions to support all DSV GBS applications. While Commvault is our primary tool, we value candidates who are open to exploring other backup technologies and have a strong cloud-oriented mindset.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Knowledge about Commvault - backup solution
  2. Having knowledge of other backup tools like Veeam or similar providers is valuable
  3. Configuration, monitoring, administration and maintenance of backup environment including backup servers, backup storage, VTL, network configuration and clients
  4. Cloud experience on the 3 major Hyperscale’s: Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
  5. Performing standard and test restores of requested files, folders, databases and virtual machines
  6. Performing disaster recovery tests
  7. Automation skills - using automation to simplify tasks and improve consistency
  8. Having at least basic knowledge of Windows and Unix OS administration
  9. Having at least basic knowledge of Bash, Shell and/or PowerShell scripting
  10. Reporting department KPIs to top management
  11. Representing Backup & Restore team in cross-department projects
  12. Create and update documentation; actively build team’s knowledge base
  13. Troubleshooting backup issues related to VMs and flat files
  14. Troubleshooting backup issues related to IBM DB2, Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases
  15. Perform in line with agreed procedures, SLA’s and customers' expectations
  16. Compliance with internal regulations, procedures, law and managers orders, including labor regulations, regulations on remuneration and other internal regulations in the company, including company’s intellectual property protection
  17. Behaviors and attitudes consistent with the values
  18. Professional skills development by participation in training and constant self-education

 

Education and skills:

  1. University/College degree in IT or business studies or any related studies
  2. Organizational skills: prioritize, plan, assign and control
  3. Customer focus: monitors customer expectations continuously
  4. Network and relationship building

 

Minimal work experience:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in similar position (Backup Administrator)
  2. Preferable work experience in IT Operations Center or business Process Centers
  3. High knowledge on Backup, Storage and server areas
  4. Operational mindset and cooperation skills
