Purpose of the job/ Overall responsibility

What are the expected end results?

The IT Director leads and oversees the Contract Logistics Local IT Business Partner with around 20 employees.

The successful candidate is responsible for managing projects together with solution delivery subdivisions in close collaboration with business stakeholders and customers providing excellence in communication, collaboration, and delivering best fitting solutions and services for the region Americas.

  • Achieve annual cost reduction through IT optimization according to synergy target.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and IT security standards.
  • Ensure people development measures are planned and executed.
  • Ensure IT team members complete relevant technical and soft skills training programs.
  • Ensure in-time delivery and adherence to delivery SLAs for projects and services.

Key Tasks

What are the tasks involved to reach the expected end results?

  • Communicate local partner’s needs across IT functions.
  • Enforce global standards and solutions, manage escalations, provide consultancy and support to customers and operations.
  • Execute global project methodologies for all customer implementations (except global template creation) and IT CL projects impacting CL operations.
  • Provide ownership and deliver support and service management for defined local solutions.
  • Ensure employee and talent retention and set up and maintain continuous people development and upskilling measures.
  • Supervise and guide IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. 
  • Track and report status, progress, and problems timely and transparently to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage IT budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effective solutions. 
  • Create cost and synergy measures to deliver cost savings.
  • Ensure system stability, cybersecurity measures, data protection policies, and regulatory compliance across operations. 
  • Continuously improve IT processes, workflows, and performance metrics to enhance productivity. 
  • Establish strong collaboration with other Contract Logistics IT subdivisions.

Professional qualifications

What are the professional skills needed to carry out the key tasks?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in IT leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership skills and good understanding of different leadership styles.
  • Proven expertise in WMS and 3PL solutions.
  • Solid understanding of warehouse management processes and auxiliary warehouse solutions.
  • Good understanding of modern IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
  • Solid understanding of budget and cost management.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard WMS solution delivery methods.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement approaches like Six Sigma, Lean, or TQM

What are the personal qualifications needed to carry out the key tasks?

  • Demonstrated experience managing large teams, fostering strong collaboration, driving performance and people motivation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and management skills.
  • Skilled in addressing team challenges and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Focus on enhancing user experience and optimizing IT solutions for operational success.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Professional speaker and presenter.

 

For this position, the expected base pay range is $165,000 - $190,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
