Position Summary:
The DSV Contract Logistics Director of Training Americas is responsible for leading the team of training staff in pursuit of highly successful delivery of company projects including internally devised major initiatives and new business implementations. This position is directly responsible for execution in the United States and has dotted line responsibility for both the Canadian and LATAM training staff. There are 3 major facets of this Director’s responsibility related to projects: Training Execution, Team Leadership, and other department leadership duties.
Training Development & Execution:
- Driving the team of Training Managers and Specialists in development of training documentation per the finalized scope and processes in collaboration with the Engineer and WMS team.
- Ensuring that the training documentation (including SOPs, Work Instructions, and visual management) are delivered per the project schedule as aligned with the Project Manager.
- Ensuring that Training Plans are developed in concert with the HR, Safety, WMS, and Operations teams, and ultimately executed successfully.
- Ensuring that WMS training adheres to standards and is executed with a focus on success of the trainee in their operating role.
Team Leadership:
- Providing direct leadership of the Senior Manager, US Operations Training and their direct reports.
- Providing direct leadership of the US WMS Training staff.
- Providing oversight and guidance to the Canadian and LATAM training staff.
- Planning and tracking work content for US Trainers in concert with the Senior Manager, US Operations Training, managing assignments throughout the year and forecasting bandwidth based on regular updates to current consumption and projections based on project pipeline.
- Monitoring of bandwidth for the Canadian and LATAM training teams with those teams’ managers.
- Driving internal department CIP initiatives for all of the Americas training teams specifically, and contributing to ideas & actions for CI initiatives for the Project Management and Training department as a whole.
- Providing regular and frequent feedback and coaching to direct reports individually, and conducting formal performance reviews semi-annually.
- Managing opportunities for professional development (team and individual).
OTHER DUTIES
- Maintaining regular communication with functional counterparts (especially from Project Management, Engineering, Operations, and Operations Support) on training delivery feedback and improvement opportunities.
- Providing a monthly status update to the North America Senior Leadership team with executive summary of training efforts.
- Lead the expansion of Change Management Certifications across Training and Project Management staff.
- Perform/oversee Change Management assessments and plans for projects.
- Monitoring department P&L, managing any cross-charge actions to sites, and reporting status to the Sr. Director PM&T monthly.
- Acting as department leader in the absence of the Sr. Director PM&T when required.
- Acting as delegate project tollgate approver for the Sr. Director PM&T when required.
- Other duties as assigned by management to support special projects, implementations, process improvements, etc.
Education and/or Experience
- Four-year degree is basic requirement
- Minimum of 10 years of job related/relevant experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 10 years Logistics/Supply Chain Industry experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Management of department staff, assignments, and work content
- Performance evaluations of direct reports
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Vizio
- Knowledge of WMS functionality
Language Skills:
- English (reading, writing, verbal), Spanish highly desired
- Interpersonal communication and language skills (e.g., listening to others, speaking to others, reading, writing).
- Communication (facilitation skills and very mature communication skills to be able to communicate to all levels in the organization).

For this position, the expected base pay range is $150,000.00 – $175,000.00 Annally. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
