POSITION SUMMARY

The EVP, Operations is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, improve customer service, and drive profitability. This involves overseeing logistics activities, such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution. In addition, the EVP collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and establish best practices for supply chain management.

Ultimately, the EVP, Operations plays a key role in driving profitability by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic planning: 

Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to support the company's overall goals. Developing and implementing an operations strategy tailored to our client that identifies opportunities to improve cost control and margin improvement and will lead to organic growth.

Ensure operational excellence through standardization of existing practices, risk assessment and review of key metrics.

Lead teams to plan and successfully execute start-up facilities for new business.

  • Policy and process development: 

Create and enforce policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. 

  • Oversight: 

Manage all aspects of daily operations, including budgets, resource allocation, inventory, and supply chain logistics. 

  • Performance monitoring: 

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement. 

  • Leadership: 

Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, foster a culture of collaboration, and ensure all departments align with operational objectives. 

Build bench strength by leading, developing and challenging operations teams to raise individual and collective performance levels by demonstrating and promoting discretionary effort.

  • Customer relations: 

Oversee customer service operations to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and a positive customer experience. 

Spearheading teams and partnering with clients to trouble-shoot and solve existing issues or problems. Contributing as a key member to our sales and solutions team in winning key strategic accounts.

Work collaboratively to establish solid business relationships with supporting departments including but not limited to: Human Resources, Sales, and Finance.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education & Experience:  

The Executive Vice President of Operations directly supervises Vice Presidents, Directors and General Managers. Responsible for overall management to achieve client satisfaction. Must interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organization for subordinates. Responsible for performance management of direct reports.

  • Experience in a “client-centric" environment with accountability for both operations metrics and client relations.
  • Third-party logistics experience is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 10 years logistics operations management experience with big box", e-commerce or specialty retailers and at least 5 years’ experience as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations.
  • Direct experience preparing budgets and actively participating in financial reviews with a solid understanding of standard and actual cost variances.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Logistics or equivalent fields is required; MBA preferred but not required

 

  • Computer Skills: 
  • Strong proficiency required in MS Office Applications.
  • Working knowledge of industry WMS


Certificates & Licenses:

 Involvement in relevant professional organizations is desirable
