Summary
DSV Projects & Industry Solutions (DPIS) is a global leader in the management of complex, large-scale logistics for energy, construction, and industrial projects. We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Senior Manager –to lead a diverse team of Senior and Junior Project Managers, as well as Specialized Transportation SMEs, in delivering best-in-class project logistics solutions across multiple clients and sectors.
This position is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing people, driving operational excellence, ensuring project delivery consistency, and maintaining DSV’s standards of quality, safety, and performance. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned logistics professional with deep project execution experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to guide high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership, Team Development & Coaching
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of Senior Project Managers, Junior Project Managers, and Specialized Transport SMEs.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture with a focus on professional growth and technical excellence.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, goal setting, and succession planning aligned with DSV’s talent development framework.
• Promote cross-functional learning between PMs and SMEs to enhance team versatility and collective capability.
• Serve as a role model in embodying DSV’s values and leadership principles.
Strategic & Operational Oversight
• Provide portfolio-level leadership across multiple client projects, ensuring each project meets scope, budget, schedule, and safety requirements.
• Oversee the planning and execution of multimodal logistics activities, including heavy-lift, out-of-gauge, and specialized transport operations.
• Ensure consistent use of DSV project management standards, tools, and reporting systems across all teams.
• Review and approve project execution plans, risk registers, schedules, and budgets prepared by team members.
• Monitor performance metrics (KPI, margin, delivery compliance, HSSE) and take corrective action as required.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
• Establish and enforce governance frameworks for project reviews, audits, and client reporting.
• Ensure all project activities adhere to DSV’s Quality Management System, HSE requirements, and relevant industry standards (ISO, OSHA, DOT, IMDG, etc.).
• Review incident investigations, root cause analyses, and ensure lessons learned are integrated into process improvements.
• Promote a “Zero Harm” culture across all project activities.
Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as senior point of escalation and strategic contact for key clients and partners.
• Oversee client engagement across multiple programs, ensuring proactive communication and delivery confidence.
• Support business development by contributing to pre-bid strategy, client presentations, and scope definition for major tenders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and transport partners to secure best-in-class performance and commercial terms.
Technical & Specialized Transport Oversight
• Supervise and guide Specialized Transport SMEs in planning, route surveys, engineering reviews, and method statements for heavy-lift or over-dimensional cargo.
• Review technical drawings, rigging plans, and transport simulations to validate feasibility and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with engineering, chartering, and site logistics teams to align multimodal operations seamlessly.
• Ensure that specialized equipment selection and vendor utilization align with project and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, digitalization, and cost reduction across the project lifecycle.
• Drive standardization of procedures and promote the implementation of best practices across all regions.
• Encourage innovation through the adoption of new logistics technologies, visibility tools, and sustainability initiatives.
• Lead after-action reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the DPIS network.
Reporting & Executive Communication
• Provide the DPIS Country Head with regular performance dashboards, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
• Consolidate project and portfolio performance data into management reports and client-ready executive summaries.
• Represent the Project Management function in country and regional leadership meetings.
Qualifications
• 12–15 years of experience in project logistics or freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multiple project managers or technical teams.
• Proven experience overseeing large-scale, complex logistics operations within energy, oil & gas, or industrial construction sectors.
• Strong leadership presence with demonstrated ability to guide, coach, and elevate both senior and emerging project professionals.
• Deep understanding of multimodal project execution, including ocean, air, and ground transport of over-dimensional and heavy-lift cargo.
• Proficiency in project and logistics management tools (MS Project, TMS, ERP, Power BI, etc.).
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, cost control, and P&L performance.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at all organizational levels.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Commitment to health, safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
Organizational Context
This position is based in Houston, Texas, within DSV Projects & Industry Solutions – USA. It reports directly to the DPIS Country Head and collaborates closely with functional leaders in Operations, Engineering, Chartering, Finance, and HSE to ensure seamless delivery of all project logistics activities nationwide and globally.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $97,000 - $145,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
