Summary
The Senior Manager, Quality Compliance is responsible for overseeing and driving quality and compliance initiatives across our domestic trucking and transportation brokerage operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring service consistency, regulatory adherence, and operational excellence. With a primary focus on quality management and compliance standards, this position will lead process improvement efforts, support customer requirements, and manage audits and documentation, while providing leadership and guidance to the Compliance Manager.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Quality Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards across all transportation and brokerage functions.
    • Monitor and support the achievement of regional quality objectives and KPIs.
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action planning for quality issues, audit findings, and recurring service failures.
    • Ensure CAPA processes are followed, documented, and completed within established timelines.
    • Facilitate internal quality audits and prepare for external audits against relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9000, ISO 45000).
    • Monitor customer service trends, investigate complaints, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

 

  • Compliance & Regulatory Management
    • Ensure consistent implementation of FMCSA, DOT, and applicable federal/state regulations across all business units.
    • Ensure annual evaluations of compliance with transportation-related legislation are completed and documented.
    • Maintain readiness for regulatory audits and ensure timely responses to any violations or enforcement actions.
    • Track and interpret changes in relevant transportation regulations and advise senior leadership on required updates.
    • Maintain and update OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs to ensure accurate and timely recording of workplace injuries and illnesses in compliance with federal regulations.
    • Partner with Quality Assurance Specialists to support evaluation and vetting of carriers.

 

  • Process Improvement
    • Standardize workflows and documentation procedures for both asset and brokerage operations.
    • Develop and manage internal audit programs to measure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
    • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to drive consistency in practices and improve customer satisfaction.

 

  • Leadership & Oversight
    • Provide functional leadership to the Compliance Manager and ensure alignment with organizational goals across both trucking and brokerage operations.
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality and compliance standards to meet customer, industry, and regulatory expectations.
    • Coordinate rollout and ensure adherence to corporate QHSE policies, procedures, and management systems across the organization.
    • Lead cross-functional efforts to enhance quality and operational consistency across asset and non-asset business lines.
    • Partner with Vertical Quality Managers to align with overall quality strategy.

 

  • Training & Development
    • Organize, deliver, and continuously improve QHSE and compliance training programs for internal staff and leadership.
    • Develop tools and materials to promote awareness and accountability across operations.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and support to the Compliance Manager and other relevant team members.

 

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

 

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation quality, compliance, or operations, ideally within both asset-based and brokerage environments.
  • 2+ years of project management experience preferred
  • Proven experience managing teams and driving process improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with operational data and reporting tools.
  • Proven experience managing and conducting audits.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of understanding of FMCSA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements affecting domestic transportation.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $137,500 - $172,000 / Annual.  Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
