After fulfilling all conditions for the acquisition of Schenker from Deutsche Bahn, DSV has formally completed the transaction. This marks the emergence of a leading player in the global transport and logistics sector, to the full benefit of both customers and employees.

DSV Flags

DSV is pleased to announce the successful completion of the acquisition of Schenker from Deutsche Bahn. This milestone marks the largest transaction in DSV’s history and represents a significant expansion of its global network, industry expertise, and competitiveness across all three business divisions.

Through the acquisition, DSV doubles its size while also laying the groundwork for sustainable growth in the years ahead. The combined company will generate a turnover of approximately EUR 41.6 billion and will employ nearly 160,000 people across more than 90 countries.

Jens H. Lund, Group CEO, DSV:

“With this acquisition, we have become a world-leading player in global transport and logistics, at a time when global supply chains are in focus more than ever before, and our customers need a reliable and agile global network of services and products. By combining the two companies, we will create a unique flexible platform for long-term financial growth to the benefit of our customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.”

Jochen Thewes, CEO, Schenker:

"We are happy to complete this important milestone, and we are looking forward to joining forces with DSV. The dialogue throughout the last months has been very positive and we are very excited about the prospects of the combined business. DSV and Schenker are a strong match ith many similarities in business models and services, shared values and high operational standards, and we look forward to getting to work."

Winning as one

In integrating Schenker, DSV places great importance on a smooth and orderly transition. The integration will therefore be carried out with care and the utmost respect for customers, employees, and all other stakeholders. Ensuring a seamless consolidation of business operations while maintaining the high standards for which both companies are known is the top priority.

The merger comes at a pivotal moment for global trade and international supply chains. The transaction strengthens DSV’s competitive position and expands its global network, while also opening the door to new markets and skilled professionals.

A larger network and enhanced capabilities to develop end-to-end supply chain solutions for our customers form a strong foundation for future growth. In addition, the acquisition supports the further development of a more sustainable, flexible, and digitized transport and logistics sector.
The combined company aims to leverage its strengthened market position to drive further growth through an expanded service offering and economies of scale, with the goal of achieving leading margins within the industry.

We look forward to delivering on the opportunities this brings for our customers, particularly at a crucial time for global trade and supply chains. At the same time, we fully recognise the importance of ensuring continuity of operations.
