Around 100 leaders of Panalpina met in Berlin this week for the company’s annual leadership conference.
The topics on the jam-packed two-day agenda focused on the company’s four-pillar strategy, targets, digital innovation and Panalpina’s leadership culture and spirit.
The leaders took part in a rich and highly interactive mix of speeches, panel discussions, polls, presentations, Q&As, video interviews and workshops. Panalpina CEO Stefan Karlen hosted the successful event.
Panalpina’s board of directors also engaged in the conference with chairman Peter Ulber, newly elected board member Sandra Emme (Google) and others.
Fabian Heilemann, partner at Earlybird and David Nothacker from German logistics start-up company sennder, as well as Ben Bryant, Professor of Leadership and Organization at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, contributed superbly to the meeting by sharing their insights about the modern freight forwarding and logistics industry and the many pitfalls and contradictions that leaders face.
The participants’ verdict about the meeting was unanimous: innovative, inspiring, authentic and simply great! By now, the leaders have returned home, invigorated and ready to share their impressions with their teams and organizations and to tackle the work ahead.
“The two days have been amazing, with great initiatives and speakers, but best were the Q&A sessions. There was a lot to absorb, a lot of food for thought to take home and share. The openness in the meeting fosters team spirit, trust and respect,” said Volkmar Mueller, Panalpina’s country manager for India. “I’m confident we will deliver on our targets,” he continued.
