Since DSV's establishment in Switzerland in 2006, we have become one of the leading freight forwarders in Switzerland in less than 15 years and are proud to be the logistics partner of choice for more than 5000+ customers.

2006

DSV secures its market entry in Switzerland by acquiring Frans Maas Groep N.V. in 2006 and ABX LOGISTICS in 2009.

DSV Logistics SA Head office is located in Chiasso as a result of the merger of ABX and Saima Avandero.

The core competency is Road Freight transportation.

DSV Logistics comprised business from all 3 divisions: Air&Sea, Road, Solutions.

2010

In 2010, DSV Switzerland counts around 215 employees in 5 offices and 10,000 employees in 40 countries worldwide.

2016

With a focus on strengthening the Air & Sea business, DSV acquires UTi Worldwide Inc., a global supply chain services and logistics company.

20 additional employees for Air & Sea business are employed and two more offices are opened - one additional in the Zurich Area and now also in Berne.

In 2016, DSV counts around 40,000 employees in 80 countries worldwide.

2019

To ensure further growth in the Air & Sea business, DSV merges with Panalpina in 2019, a global provider of transport and logistics services. DSV has now become the world's fourth largest freight forwarding company, counting 60,000 employees in more than 90 countries.

DSV in Switzerland is divided into two separate business divisions: Air&Sea and Road/Solutions. 

2020

On February 1, 2020, the new company DSV Air&Sea AG is created, which takes over the business identity of the former Panalpina AG Switzerland. The new headquarters of the DSV Air&Sea division is in Basel, with Managing Director Dominik Wiesler. The headquarters of DSV Logistics SA remains in Balerna, with Managing Director Martin Brunner.

Expansion of offices in Switzerland with locations in Vernier, La Chaux-de-Fonds, St.Gallen, Basel, Lyss and later Chiasso.

The number of staff in Switzerland is 554.

2021

DSV acquires Agility’s Global Integrated Logistics business (GIL), a leading global transport and logistics provider. DSV has now become the world's third largest freight forwarding company, counting 75,000 employees in more than 80 countries.

The number of staff in Switzerland in 2024 is 600.
